Removal of tubes

The tubes are usually kept in for 6 - 8 weeks (occasionally a longer period is advised). They are removed as a simple out-patient local anesthetic procedure, cutting the tubes at the corner of the eye and retrieving them atraumatically from the nose, often with the aid of a nasal endoscope to see them.

The picture shows a nasal endoscopy, used for removal of tubes.
